Are tractors on the road an accident waiting to happen?
A recent report has claimed that more than 900 tractors, telehandlers and other self-propelled farm machines are likely to be involved in RTA’S (Road Traffic Accidents) during 2008 due to the lack of awareness from other road users. These alarming figures come from a study carried out by the Department for Transport, which also estimates that on average 8 farmers and 11 other road users will die each year as a result.
