On the 12th September 2007 a protection zone and surveillance zone was placed around a farm in Surrey after an outbreak of Foot and Mouth. As there have been no further cases since this date, DEFRA has confirmed that as of 31st December 2007 the Foot & Mouth export areas have been lifted together with the remaining restrictions of movement of FMD susceptible animals.
